Some sacrifice more than others and I wonder if people will learn that sacrifice doesn't guarantee success. Listen as the vocals becomes more processed, trying to be something else, have the life sucked out of them by desire. The twisted circus melody portays the reality of their stage. 🤡

I composed this song when I was... oooo... like, what... 14? But these lyrics didn't exist as they are today. This song has morphed into something so, oh for a lack of better word, sexy. I love the visuals this creates. The love this person feels is so full-scope. Every layer is catered for in their desire for that unobtainable, passionate dream they're having. 

I sent the original track to my mate Bafana (the button pusher in Trackers+) and he created this beautiful backing track for me to lay vokes on. I don't know how he gets the vision I have in my brain, but he does. And it works. Then I went round to his studio space and dabbled a little in the composition process to add my little touch to the instruments. Then he further adds his punch in the musical face, and we end up with this song. And I'm in LOVE with it.

A 2nd submission for the Art Inspired Music 2023

A TV/Film soundtrack for the Warden created by @bazookabonsai for his dark sci-fi fantasy comic book "KERKA".

"What little warmth remains, what small innocense is still undefiled, is yours to guard..."

We imagined this as an animation and what that Intro/Credits theme would sound like. Described as a dark sci-fi fantasy, we combined some high energy rock with some dirty electronic bass. The recorded vocals, bells and vocal synths give it that heroes light.

So... hear me out. Here is the story this image told me.

You're in a rut. A robotic rut, just waking up. Now shower, shit and shave, got to work, go to sleep. Rinse and repeat, just a cog, mindlessly existing in this mechanical society.

0:00 So this track starts with the jungle beat, with the robotic grind of routine. Intensity and pressure builds. There must be more?

1:51 Awakening. A passion stirs, a hobby, a new person in your life, a call to your soul. The thought gets lost as the machine pulls you back in. But the Beast is awake.

2:26 Get the fuck up. The beast within is taking control. You're no longer that cog. The fire in your soul builds and it's your time to find happiness. Find success, discover a purpose in life and embrace it.

3:20 You feel alive. Primal happiness. You've done it. No more self sabotage, only push forward.

4:22 You're aware you still exist in the machine, but you march to the beat of your own drum. You're still surrounded by "cogs" who have not yet awakened their souls, and may never, but that is not your weight to carry. Keep your fire fueled.

The track is a bit of a mashup. I wrote the drums first for that jungle feel. Used the FL Studio 303 Emulator "Transistor Bass" combined with some guitar fx pedals for the robotic elements. Bassline with some distortion automation to give it the growl of a beast awakening. Then brought in the Breakbeat / DnB elements. The piano merges with synths to bring it all to life.

This song is a celebration of the friendships that have formed through Newgrounds, in particular the Audio Portal.

Trackers is a musical project is made up of @bafana @hania and @inyourdreams. Bafana and Hania have been friends since 2012 and InYourDreams joined the crew in 2016.

Been friends with @thatjohnnyguy for even longer than that but finally joining forces on this track from Mortal Kombat in 2021!

Anyways, Newgrounds is a place of friendship for us so that's the song we contributed to this collaboration.
